Our Product team was hard at work this month listening to your feature requests and turning them in action. Here's everything you need to know about what's new and improved in Teamwork.com.
Confidently assign the right person to the right job with Skills
We know that resourcing can be a complex area for your team, and while a great high-level resource, Roles alone don’t always tell the full story.
The last thing you want is for the wrong people to be doing the wrong work, wasting your time, their time, and most importantly, the precious resources needed to deliver work on time and on budget.
Luckily, Skills in Teamwork.com help you go beyond simple Roles to highlight your team members’ specific expertise.
Making more informed, accurate resourcing decisions has rarely been simpler. You can spot who holds the right skills and availability when assigning work, paving the way for more effective collaboration and better visibility into what talent is available across your team.
Get ready to understand your team’s full capabilities and expertise—not just their job titles. Head to the blog to learn more (including a helpful breakdown of Roles vs. Skills in case you need a quick refresher).
New reporting features to get excited about
A slew of new features to Reporting in Teamwork.com can only mean one thing: your ability to stay on track—and plan for the financial future—just got a huge boost.
Invoice Status Report
One place to track, manage, and report on all of your invoices? Don’t mind if we do. With the new Invoice Status Report, you now have a single area to view and report on the status of every invoice.
You’ll get a clear overview of both open and paid invoices, while avoiding the need for manual spot-checks to make sure everything is accurate. Plus, you can export comprehensive reports for full visibility into your invoices so your team has easy access to key information regarding all of your invoicing. .
Expense Summary Report
Speaking of a single area to accomplish important tasks, the powerful Expense Summary Report lets you track expenses for all projects in—you guessed it—one place. This update gives you even more visibility into money-making insights across your projects.
Worried about making sure all of your expenses are billed accurately? We’ve all been there. Skip the worrying and get a clear overview of everything going on in your expenses world, from cost to markup to billable totals.
The report columns are customizable as well, so you can always surface the details that are most relevant to your work with just a click.
Custom Reports Charts
Sometimes words and numbers just aren't enough to cut it. That's why we've built Custom Reports Charts to help you visualize your data, identify key patterns and trends, and convey information more effectively.
With a few clicks, you can create beautiful, easy-to-digest visualizations that highlight data from Custom Reports. Get the full details here to help you create your first chart.
Scheduled Reports tab
You may already know about our Scheduled Reports feature, which lets you schedule reports to be sent (either one at a time or at a regular cadence) to teammates that need them.
We’re taking things one step further, so you can now access a dedicated Scheduled Reports tab to ensure the correct reports are being generated at the right times and cadence.
This new view displays a table of scheduled reports, providing more detailed information to help you manage your schedules and ensure the correct reports are being generated at the right times and intervals. No more digging around for the right information, no more sifting through all of your reports to find exactly what you need to.
Let the Scheduled Reports tab be your one-stop-shop for finding key details like who they’re delivered to, when they’ll be delivered next, and what format they’re in. (You can even use filtering options to quickly locate a report.)
Dark Mode has landed
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you—that beautiful dark background you see? It’s our brand new Dark Mode, now in beta!
Whether you're using it for enhanced focus or just to give your eyes a rest, you can now access this feature under the "Theme" setting in your profile menu.
Many of you have requested a Dark Mode version of the platform, and we’ve been working hard to make it just right not only from an aesthetic perspective, but also for more practical reasons. Whether you’re looking to reduce eye strain, improve accessibility, or just have more flexible options that match how you prefer to work in a given mode, Dark Mode goes above and beyond to do all of the above and more.
Ready to try it on for size? Make the switch by heading to the Theme setting in your profile menu, then selecting Dark Mode from the dropdown.
Make client management even easier with Spaces access permissions
If you have both client users in Teamwork.com and the paid Spaces add-on, we have an exciting update for you! Client users now have access to Spaces that their company has explicit permission to access. This means that Client Users will be able to access Spaces that their client company has permission to access today, better enabling you to share progress reports with your clients directly through Spaces.
This allows you to bring your clients into the fold and share progress updates with them in one place, keeping a repository of all of the shared updates, comments, and any other important details and insights they can’t get elsewhere.
This much sought-after feature puts more power and visibility at your disposal to share key progress reports with clients, who will only have read-only access to the specific Spaces assigned to their parent company.
With this update, Client Users will have read access to Spaces that you have assigned their company permission to view. This will allow you to bring your clients into the fold and share progress updates with them via Spaces, keeping a repository of all of the shared updates, comments, and more.
Client Users will only have read access to Spaces that their company has explicit permission to access.
One last change to switch to the new List View with a single click
No one likes to be forced to do anything… which is why we’re counting on you to make the switch to the new List View before time runs out in mid-May!
Ultimately, that means spending less time trying to get used to a new look and layout and more time spent doing, well, the things you should actually be focusing on.
You can do your part by toggling on the New List View option in List View's top right to switch between versions. (That was painless, right?)
